A PARENT. A NEIGHBOR. YOUR SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEMBER.

Great schools

take work

I'm Mike Mastrobuoni. I bring a public school parent's perspective and a municipal finance director's experience to our School Committee.

Mike Mastrobuoni outdoorsROOTED IN MEDFORD.

A neighbor with
twenty years of
local government experience.

I'm Mike. I've got two kids at the Roberts School, I've spent most of my career figuring out local government budgets, and now I get to put that experience to work on the Medford School Committee.

I think our schools can be better. I also know that getting there means asking good questions, being upfront about tough choices, and doing the work — even when the answers aren't easy.

This is where I'll share what I'm learning, what I'm working on, and why I think it matters.

Big priorities.
Practical follow-through.

Strong schools take resources, trust, and a plan. Here's where I'm putting my attention.

Let's talk money

School budgets are complicated, but they shouldn't be a mystery. I want people to understand what we're spending, why we're spending it, and whether it's making a difference for kids. City Hall needs to be our partner, not our adversary.

Think beyond
next June

We're making decisions about a new high school, aging buildings, and programs our neighbors will depend on for years. We need to understand the costs and plan for them before the bills come due.

Build schools around kids

Each student is different. Our job is to make sure our schools can meet them where they are, whether that means more support, different opportunities, or simply listening when something isn't working.

Dig in, gang.

Local government shouldn't require a universal translator device. Explore the tools I like to make, test my assumptions, and see the choices for yourself.
